Moments of Flow

The words we speak become the house we live in. ~ Hafiz

I've been living at a higher vibration since coming home from Maine, changed the channel to Nature’s Pulse and was reminded of a view I’ve known before - if not in this lifetime, in another for sure.

Sweet, silent surrender.

I can be on the shore of a daydream looking out at Acadia, totally high on the compassion of this Oneness while also feeling lonely, a-part, deeply concerned and acutely aware of the suffering so very near to where I stand, and so very far away.

And then, poof! I’m on a Zoom call with my Grounding Goddesses Coaching Circle.

I’ve never really known the power of a group of women dedicated to mutual growth. I grew up in a patriarchy, surrounded by boys and men which predefined the boundaries of my destiny. Girls were foreign, intimidating, and that always limited me to the one or two who earned my trust.

Still, here I am in the fierce, creational force of the Feminine (a Matrix), cultivating clarity (Vipashyana) and invoking the ground of our collective wisdom (Shamatha).

We’re five badass souls spinning spells of Love!

And, so, in talking with Liza (meaning God’s Oath) and Nellie (Sun Ray), Kathy (Pure) and Shanita (God’s Gift), we came upon the discussion of the meaning of names and the power of activating their highest vibration. We postured:

If, as (Divine) souls we have chosen our parents as portals into this life (see Gary Zukav’s, the Seat of the Soul), then this Divinity has also chosen our name to help us navigate and make sense of that life.

Here’s the import:

Not a single human being has had any say into which family, culture, race, gender, creed, economics, environment, or circumstance to be born.

We’re all growing through the random, co-creative combination of circumstances and relational dynamics that we were dealt.

And that looks totally different for each one of us – it’s measurable and visceral – has winners and losers. However, there’s also something powerful that is very much the same about us - a shared goal:

If we’ve come into this world choiceless and whole, then our collective mission is the leave choiceless and whole.

We arrive as souls masked in personalities, meeting on the road of Enlightenment - telling saucy tales, sharing wisdom, carrying chickens and instruments and loaves of bread, and singing songs of freedom! And as we do, we share our names and the sound of these names (in unique combination with the stories they tell), weave into the very fabric of our being.

Names are the way Soul travels in-between, coalesces with the world, and offers guidance to the ego.

To be clear, we’re speaking of multi-sensory perception.

The soul is not linear - it’s not subject to time, though our experiences and relationships are conditioned by time. For this reason, a growth opportunity on the physical/somatic plane is benefitted by spatial/spiritual qualities like compassion and forgiveness which become the metaphysical muscles that offset any sense of gravity or shame.

Now, the moment we put relative or punitive terms on a soulful or spiritual journey - “more or less”or “good or bad”- that differentiation becomes personal in a way that makes us forget the “what” of our sameness.

And when we forget what is the same, we spend a life time defending the things that are different. We lose sight of the answers that are right here, the ones that have eternal value and which offer the greatest capacity for return.

How, then, can we rise collectively - rise from this eternal sameness in ways that honor the discourse of our differences?

We turn to our name.

Our name reveals our desire, design and destiny, becomes the first cognitive differentiation – it’s an act of stepping outside of Paradise and being born into Life (Eve) – an ego being born into the light phenomenal world from the darkness asking, “Ko Hum? Ko Hum? “

Who am I?

It holds within it the capacity and code to return us to Paradise or Heaven or Happiness, and then, to make decisions and respond from that sense of wholeness. Remembering (called being aware of being aware in non-dualism) is what completes the cycle of forgetfulness.

In this way, a name (chosen by the soul) becomes a way of remembering - becomes a mantra, a pathway and map to helping us learn and grow.

That means we are the very portal and key to deciphering the soul messages sent to us through the people and experiences that we call near (or the ones with which we collide).

For example, my name Annette (derived from Hannah, Anna, Ani), means grace. Notice that the last vowel is silent (is in-agreement to be silent to give sound to the last consonant, “t” – the way gravi(ty) is verified by grace).

The qualities of grace are patience, generosity, and compassion and its virtues are faith, hope, and love.

When certain aspects of my personality overwhelm or dominate my perception, I forget what I Am. I’m anything but graceful, even curt, stingy, or arrogant. However, when I notice the constricted feeling of “curt, stingy and arrogant”, I’m humbled (spiritual) and integrated (cognitive) by a process called Holy.

Here’s what it looks like:

Faith forgives the fault rather than hide it or feel shamed, and God shines through these words, which activates the hope that your vibration (the reader whom grace has called near) will elevate the message rather than judge the messenger, at which point failure is integrated into our destiny as a source of wisdom.

We’re born into the root power of our greatest potential!

And so, we are tasked to know our name – to “Know Thyself” - and then to recognize the pattern of "whom” we are calling near, and how the meaning and qualities of their name will elevate our experience.

I noticed this awhile back when on retreat with Rupert Spira.

I was having auditory overload in the dining hall; it was lined with limestone and hard wooden benches along the edge, and once filled, I could barely contain the pulsing sound. Everything and everyone around me were vibrating - had a frequency, a color, a note - and noticing this shifted something inside of me … forced me to slow down and get curious – to taste yellow and ease into blue, to relax into the highest quality of their vibe.

Like Ryan (color Yellow) the first person I met, a man in his forties who appeared youthful and stalwart. His name means little king, and so the qualities presented were those of intelligence, perseverance, bravery, and loyalty - I was reminded to include my higher intelligence, which asked for humility and to remember to whom I was loyal - to my kingdom, to those emotions and ambitions that were ruled by whom those intentions served:

“Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” Matthew: 6:11

No doubt, the way we rule our internal family affects our spiritual, economic and social vitality – rulers who rule for the benefit of the whole, contribute vitally to the whole, contribute resources for the purpose of collective growth; and rulers who rule fearfully, use us as resources – drain our Prana (Life Force) or sense of essentialness - divide us from our humanity, conquer our will and then deplete us.

It is I that oversees this fiefdom - this kingdom, this property, this home, this ecos, this environment - it was within myself and it was asking me for consciousness. To ask, “What kind of ruler have I been? …beneficent, or tyrannical?”

The next person I met, was Alethea, which means truth in Greek. If, in Ryan, I was being called to rule beneficently, through Alethea I was being called to Be True to the purpose of this experience and this opportunity on earth: to remember heaven - to Be True.

And then there was Rupert, meaning brilliant -radiant, Sri, Bodhi - with his numerous non-dual facets and unlimited Sufi essence infusing through me!

This conversation I’m sharing is graced through this reverie, illumined by the brilliance of Rupert and his name, by the Bhagavad Gita I am studying — there is sacrifice, cuts made on behalf of reflecting our intention to be Authentic - of serving love, of serving connection, of serving this sense of loyalty and infinite co-creative capacity, of serving the compassion to see clearly, and to be conscious of the individuals that come near to guide us.

How about You? What are your beliefs and name calling near?

The environment (mental states) that we are tending to within ourselves and the beliefs that we have about ourselves or about others, become mirrors into the world.

If we are not attending to those beliefs through the lens of Source - if we are not challenging, reinterpreting, reconditioning, or a-tuning them to the frequency of Absolute Truth - then we’re denying ourselves Heaven on Earth - denying ourselves the sense of our inherent happiness or enlightenment or bliss or contentment – denying ourselves relief from dissatisfaction, relief from defense, relief from demand.

Being in Maine on the edge, beneficent and loyal to the truth, reveals the Aura of Nature, connects me to the pulse of What I am.

By reducing the noise of bias imposed upon this Truth, we can come into connection and in alignment with the Heartbeat of our True Nature. We can be in the halo of what we share… from whence we've come.

And, so, as I return again to my intellect's assignment (and to my ego's delight), I pause to reflect upon the message of the day with my GG’s (and these words).

It seems clear that I - you, me - am at the center of this Holy Trinity - with Nellie’s compassionate rays shining through this multifaceted prism, expanding faith; Shanita stomping as Durga Ma, demanding that  I live my charisma (unique gift from God) - vowing that “God is my oath” (the meaning of Liza) and to be devoted to the process of its purification (Kathy) which returns me to God.

I, Annette, with the memory of God shining through the grace that I am - through the life chosen by my soul that will provide me within finite opportunities to rise with grace – will purify through the heart that which I am meant to bring to the world - will enlighten others through honesty, by sharing my own path -  will share the wisdom and knowledge that is True to you and which dis-includes no one —wisdom and knowledge that will guide you, that will shine through you, because of you and no one else.

I offer my friends a loving space to be creative, to be on the path, to challenge old meanings and discover new value.

… to come home to whom you have always been, this one and only you.
